The Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc has already concluded, but a trilogy of films will serve as the saga's real denouement. Our ongoing series of articles featuring the Hashira, the toughest fighters in the force, has not ended. This time, Mitsuri Kanroji, the always joyful Love Hashira, is the article's primary character.
Similar to the features on Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima, this page will include information from both the manga and the anime. Although the majority of Mitsuri's features were already disclosed during the Swordsmith Village Arc, a few elements may still somewhat betray things to fans of anime alone, so keep that in mind as you continue.
Image sourced from Ufotable Who is Mitsuri Kanroji?Like the other Hashira, Mitsuri made her debut when Ubuyashiki called the Kamado siblings to debate and decide on Nezuko's situation during the Rehabilitation Training Arc. However, Mitsuri's character wasn't really developed until the Swordsmith Village Arc.It was during her time in the Swordsmith Village that she met Nezuko, Genya, and Tanjiro. It's interesting that Hashira was friendly with the three despite their lack of previous engagements, demonstrating her kind nature. Even more disappointing was her reaction when Genya declined to introduce himself; nevertheless, Tanjiro, who is always eager to please, soon became her savior. Mitsuri's ravenous hunger was also evident throughout the aforementioned storyline. She could eat platters of food with ease, which curiously made Tanjiro want to do the same.For the most part, Mitsuri is shown as a kind yet careless person. She doesn't discriminate when it comes to expressing her love for others; she discovers aspects in them that are readily loved. Her compassion, however, does not extend to devils. .The tragic past of Mitsuri Kanroji
Naturally joyful, Mitsuri got along well with all four of her siblings as well as her parents. Mitsuri's physical talent was obvious even in her early years. She had no trouble carrying large stones and dominating adult sumo fighters. In those days, she was also a heavy eater. As it turns out, her overindulgence in Sakura mochi was the cause of her vivid pink and green hair.Unfortunately, because of her remarkable strength and hair color, her classmates isolated her. Her fiancé's 17-year-old breakup, which included the comment that only a beast or boar would wed someone with her power, was the last straw. He went even farther, telling her that he didn't want her odd hair color to be passed on to his future offspring. Mitsuri changed who she was by force as a result of being rejected.In an attempt to blend in, Mitsuri cut down on her food intake and dyed her hair black, even though doing so was bad for her health. What is Mitsuri Kanroji's strength?
As mentioned before, Mitsuri has extraordinary physical strength. She can easily break through demon bones and defeat strong opponents. After joining the Demon Slayer Corps, her strength only increased. In addition to her great strength, Mitsuri has pliable joints. She makes use of her exceptional flexibility to both dodge and launch surprise strikes on her adversaries. Her Hashira training is centered on improving the demon slayers' flexibility for the same purpose.Before Mitsuri became the Love Hashira, she was really Tsuguko for Rengoku. She wasn't the best fit for the Flame Hashira's Breathing Style, however. She was unable to fully use the Breathing Style. She used it to create her personal Breathing Style, Love Breathing, as opposed to settling for Flame Breathing.Mitsuri combines her special Love Breathing method with sheer force and agility to create a formidable fighting machine. As seen during the Swordsmith Village Arc, she can execute assaults that are both destructive and far-reaching thanks to her whip-like Nichirin sword. Moreover, Hashira awakened her Demon Slayer Mark initially with Mitsuri. When Mitsuri uses her Mark, her fighting ability increases dramatically. She gains the strength to battle and even vanquish demons from the Upper Moon, although she is still not as powerful as Muzan Kibutsuji.
