Necrozma and fusions are being added to Pokémon Go, but some users simply want their previous avatars to return.

The renowned Necrozma and a new fusion feature are officially headed to Pokémon Go, as Niantic has previously unsubtly hinted at. Although gamers are still excited with Necrozma's addition, a cursory look at fan comments reveals that some would like Niantic to give priority to rolling back its avatar alterations.

When Niantic released information about Necrozma on Twitter on May 13, the first comment was a request for the company to "Revert the avatars." After you get beyond the first wave of responses from blue check users, you'll see a deluge of identical requests asking Niantic to reverse its major avatar modification. You may still find additional similar responses sporadically throughout the first round of comments that are really connected to Necrozma's introduction.

Avatar customization for Pokémon Go gamers received an update from Niantic last month, which included new and intricate features including skin tone, eye color, and body weight adjustments. It would be an understatement to say that the upgrade has not gone down well; almost every player has criticized it for making their avatars seem "uglier." Many people have harshly criticized this April Reddit post, labeling it a late April Fools hoax. The most common criticisms of pale avatars, which are even called "anemic," and the fact that everyone seems to have a "baggy crotch" are among the most popular remarks.

The fan site Pokémon Go Hub said that shortly after the update was released, a Niantic official called them and stated that the firm was "taking this seriously" and soliciting comments. They did, however, point out that Niantic made no guarantees that it will alter the update or make any further adjustments, and that it hasn't seemed to address the avatars since then. Up until then, I anticipate that announcements of new Pokémon Go content will be greeted with demands for a reversal on the avatar customisation.

In actuality, Niantic is referring to the fact that Necrozma will initially only be accessible in five-star raids at in-person Pokémon Go Fest 2024 events; but, later in the summer, there will be a worldwide event in which everyone, anywhere in the world, may take part. Given that it can combine with either Solgaleo or Lunala to take on one of two forms—Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma—Necrozma is a very unusual kind of Pokémon. You'll need a certain quantity of Cosmog Candy and Necrozma in addition to one of two new resources in order to do this: 1,000 Solar Energy to fuse with Solgaleo or 1,000 Lunar Energy to fuse with Lunala. After completing certain research assignments or slaying Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozmas in raid encounters, both resources will become accessible.

The official Pokémon Go website provides a more thorough explanation of Necrozma and its forms, but it's not the only new feature joining the game. During an Ultra Space Wonders event, Naganadel, Stakataka, and Blacephalon—three more Ultra Beasts—will be accessible for capture. The event can be found on Niantic's website for additional information. It is scheduled to take place from May 23 to May 28.
