Only the Advanced Iridium Rod or the Iridium Rod may be outfitted with the Sonar Bobber. The Advanced version can have two tackle items attached, whilst the Iridium Rod can only hold one at a time. That being said, there's not much purpose in attaching two Sonar Bobbers to a single rod since it won't affect the fishing experience.
Any kind of Bobber may be equipped by opening your inventory, left-clicking it, then right-clicking on the Rod of your choice.A little box will appear in the upper right corner of the minigame interface when you go Fishing with the Sonar Bobber equipped. You can see precisely what has accepted the bait within this cage, giving you the option to reel it in or release it.You won't receive a small preview window if you're capturing garbage, or Jellies for that matter.
If you want to go fishing for an extended period of time, you may wish to carry backup sonar bobbers. You must carefully arrange your space since tackles do not stack within your inventory.
