This month, Magic: The Gathering: Secret Lair x Brain Dead releases a new set of bold cards.

A new Secret Lair drop has been confirmed by Wizards of the Coast for July 2024. The Brain Dead x Secret Lair Superdrops is a LA-based team of international designers and artists making their mark on The Gathering of Magic includes a few very unique designs that exemplify their aesthetic.

Three Superdrops that offer well-known card archetypes a surprising new look have been made possible by Brain Dead and Wizards of the Coast working together. There are animals, lands, and Commander essentials. When they go on sale in the Secret Lair shop from July 29, 2024, to August 18, 2024, players may pick up and add three individual drops to their collection or use them in their decks to add a little flare to their next game.

The Secret Lair x Brain Dead partnership includes 20 cards overall across all three Superdrops. The non-foil version costs $29.99, while the foil edition costs $39.99 each Drop. There are just a few sets available for purchase, as is the case with all Secret Lair Drops at this time. This is because they are not produced on demand. To celebrate this partnership, Brain Dead will also be offering some special merchandise for sale on their website.

The Secret Lair × Brain Dead: Creatures has artwork by Gage Lindsten, Ema Gaspar, Gomzé, JRZ251, and Kogan. Drop may be seen in the picture above. As you can see, the collective approaches the art for well-known Creatures in a manner that I don't believe we've seen in MTG before. These are the cards that make up this Drop.

  • 1x Chaotic Goo

The Brain Dead: Lands in the Secret Lair Drop, which has artwork by Gage Lindsten and Hank Reavis, does a fantastic job of highlighting these otherwise uninteresting cards so that they stand out. The mountain with the lone water tower is my favorite. This Drop's cards are all listed below.

  • 2x Plains
  • 2x Island
  • 2x Swamp
  • 2x Mountain
  • 2x Forest

Finally, we have the Secret Lair × Brain Dead: Staples, with artwork by Bardo Bread and Jackson Epstein. Shut down. This Drop gives the Commander cards that we all use on a daily basis a fresh appearance that no one will have predicted. These are the cards that are included in this collection.

  • 1x Lightning Greaves
  • 1x Skullclamp
  • 1x Sol Ring
  • 1x Thought Vessel
  • 1x Command Tower

Although MTG doesn't gain anything from these cards As the Bloomburrow, mechanically They do provide a fresh visual aspect to the game that contrasts with all other card artwork when they are slated to arrive soon. Every card that Brain Dead creates embodies their uncompromising approach to art and design, which has made them famous.

Any of these cards would be great additions to my collection, whether it's the menacing Wurmcoil Engine Creature card or the stunning Mountain Land card. Although the artwork is undoubtedly not for everyone, I believe that many fans will find something to like about the vintage aesthetic used throughout.
