Preparing for the next semester
You all already know how much I adore the River City Girls. These early pictures from WayForward's impending remake/remaster of River City Girls Zero, which is presently scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch later this year, excites me.
The English-language version of Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka,, the Super Famicom game in which our ladies Kyoko and Misako made their Kunio-kun debut, is called River City ladies Zero. With a new title track by the excellent Megan McDuffee, whose electro stylings and seductive vocals made the original River City Girls such a captivating adventure, and fun manga-esque cutscenes, the new release, retitled River City Girls Zero, will feature a fully localized edition of the original 1994 release.
The new picture above seems to show that River City Girls Zero is going full meta, with the awful duo's contemporary counterparts settling down to watch their old-school Super Famicom antics. I hope they've got a converter. Please give me a call if you would want to borrow a SNES scart lead, Kyoko. The first screenshots of the activity, which show young people Kunio and Riki trying to clear their reputations after being arrested for a crime they didn't commit, were also tweeted by WayForward. I'm game for new Action of Kunio-kun even old newThe action of Kunio-kun so I'm excited for its release.
Later in 2021, River City Girls Zero makes its Nintendo Switch debut. For a release in 2022, River City Girls 2 is currently in development.
Later this year, River City Girls Zero—also known as Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka—the beloved 16-bit beat 'em up that served as the inspiration for River City Girls and River City Girls 2—will be available on the Switch.
