Currently, everything is Skyrim. Skyrim Skyrim. It's a great game, of course, but sometimes it's helpful to revisit some of the earlier submissions. Oblivion in The Elder Scrolls IV was one of the greatest role-playing games of its time and a significant addition to the venerable series. In light of this, I'm happy that people continue to make time to show it some love.
A fan-made mod can significantly improve your TES4 experience, as reported by DSO Gaming. Citadel of Madness, uploaded by Nexus Mods user Vorians (and made by Lariatius), is a really large download that adds a ton of additional material.
The description states that it further includes the following:
- A new quest line, comparable in duration to any Cyrodiil guild. 38 new quests (23 in the main line, 15 side quests).
- A huge fortress on a floating island.
- Hundreds of new characters.
- More than 3000 lines of dialogue.
- Over 25 hours of play.
- Powerful bosses and new opponents. The Knights of Order among them are far from the strongest.
- New game territories: the Archipelago of Madness, the lands of Jyggalag and one more (you’ll see for yourself later).
- On the Archipelago of Madness there are three small but well-developed islands and, accordingly, three new settlements: a city, a village and a fishing village.
- Lots of new drinks and alchemical ingredients.
- A new gaming faction with its own career ladder, several non-playable and hostile factions.
- Many well-developed locations: more than 180 new internal cells (interiors).
- New types of caves and crypts.
- New magical artifacts and familiar old ones.
- New in-game literature, as well as books from other parts of TES.
- New music and sounds.
- New weapons and armor.
The backstory from the Shivering Isles DLC is even included.
There is no end to Oblivion.
Alright, so strictly speaking, this isn't a fresh mod at this time. This is essentially an English translation of a Russian fan project, according to Vorians. I located what seems to be the original file, which was posted a while back. Nevertheless, it's technically fresh since it's a translated version that was published to Nexus Mods again, right?
Despite its mistakes, Oblivion was an incredible song. I refer to shortcomings in that the majority of Bethesda games are bundled with a fair number of glitches and defects. Even though it was one of the less extreme cases, TES4 is still outdated.
Still, it is very much a beloved game, often appearing high on lists of the greatest Elder Scrolls games ever made ( Morrowind generally at the top). Modders never stop providing the goods to keep us coming back for more, ensuring that Oblivion's legacy will live on. Is it sentimentally too kiss-assy? It doesn't concern me. I adore this game.
