3D Realms and Voidpoint have announced that the much anticipated Ion Fury expansion, Aftershock, will launch on October 2, 2023, as part of the Realms Deep event. Cheers to Monday!
Ion Fury is a contemporary game developed on the famous Build Engine of Duke Nukem 3D. It is Duke 3D's spiritual successor in many respects. In reality, if 3D Realms hadn't given Gearbox the character, it most likely would have been a Duke Nukem game.Rather, you take on the role of Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison. In the expansion pack, she confronts Dr. Heskel, her archenemy, once again. Aftershock is more than just a map pack; it includes new foes, weaponry, and a motorbike for Shelly. In addition, the original game has a new difficulty and a feature called "Arrange Mode" that allows you to replay the whole experience in a remixed manner. Calm beans. I believe that Ion Fury is not as good as Duke Nukem 3D, mostly due to a more difficult-to-manage arsenal and less amazing level design, but it was a good spiritual successor. When I consider it, I realize that this may have been Duke Nukem Forever. These are some alternatives they might have given us in place of the disaster we got.The Aftershock expansion should hopefully make a noticeable difference. I'm excited about it. Furthermore take notice that this is not the same game as Phantom Fury. Slipgate Ironworks is working on that one, which is more of a sequel.October 2, 2023 is when Ion Fury: Aftershock is released. There is currently no word on other platforms; it's just available for PC.
