I never realized how much of an effect this game would have on my mental health when my spouse gave me the present of Stardew Valley back in December 2017. It's the kind of game I needed in my childhood, and I'm not afraid to confess that as an adult, I play it for therapeutic purposes.
One of the games that I play when I finally need to unwind is Stardew Valley . Even though I often play games to unwind, Stardew Valley goes above and beyond and helps me to feel less alone in the world. On days when life becomes too much or society is overwhelming, it gives me a purpose. I always feel like I'm getting better or healing when I play the game because of the many tasks, adorable pixel imagery, and soothing soundtrack.
I'm thrilled since the aesthetic is so adorable.
The pixel-style visuals, particularly in Stardew Valley, , appeal to my inner kid, who once needed this game. Cute things usually make me cheerful and optimistic. The bright colors and palette of the piece create an aesthetically pleasing pixel art where everything blends together. My spirits are lifted by the game's additional cheery tones added by the vibrant palette.
Even on stormy days, I can't help but think about my closest buddy who loved storms and the loud, but soothing, sounds of rain, even on days when the thunder is unbearably loud. In the summer, I also need to make sure I have a enough supply of lightning rods. I too feel upset when lightning strikes any of my flowers or crops, even if it does make batteries for them. Particularly when crops are damaged, as it destroys my sometimes flawless growth and layouts.
I like the activities.
There's a ton of stuff to do in . Stardew Valleythat enjoyment is guaranteed. I like mining since it allows me to explore the cave system, have tranquil moments throughout the process, and eventually encounter conflict as I go deeper. The zones become more and more different as I go; they go from having regular stone tiling to looking like a frozen old castle and finally a cavern filled with lava. Although I play a mod on my PC since the mini-game is a little too challenging, fishing is still enjoyable. I love to play the fishing minigame on the Nintendo Switch since I'm better at using the controls.
I like the variety of fish the game offers, but my favorite is the purple super cucumber that I found in the water for some reason. I really like the agricultural side of it, including producing crops and animals. I love that I can touch all of the animals, including the initial pet from the new game menu, every morning. Even though it might be tiresome at times, I like searching for pets in the mornings and hearing the small sounds made by the chickens, cows, and goats. I sometimes like to sit in their fenced-in space and observe them as they explore while taking in the sounds of the animals.
Though gentle, the music is joyful and energetic. It cheers up even the most depressed players and flawlessly complements the game's look. I like that each season has a variety of soundtracks that seem appropriate for that months, and there's something about the way the music moves from the farm to the town that feels like perfect execution. I'm delighted with social interactions whether in the form of friendships, romantic relationships, marriage, and starting a family. In the event that I'm feeling particularly lonely on a given day, I know I have pals in the game who would be delighted to chat to me.
No matter how I'm feeling, I can always count on my friends to help me unwind in multiplayer or even to become friends with the non-player characters in the town and see them at each of the game's festivals. Even though I haven't completed the game or even seen all that happens in it, Stardew Valley is my go-to game whenever I need a pick-me-up or feel like life is becoming too difficult.
