Reggie claims that Metroid Prime 4 is "still in development and proceeding well" notwithstanding its absence at E3.

It had to be someone, don't you think?

The year of Super Smash Bros. is 2018, and E3Although I was happy that Nintendo decided to make the conference all about Smash, not everyone was as excited. I have been a fan of the series since day one on the Nintendo 64. People asked, "Where's [x]?" afterwards, and one of the most often mentioned variables in that equation was Metroid Prime 4.

Nintendo has taken note of your pleas, and NOA President Reggie Fils-Aimé has prepared a prefabricated reply for you. "Last year was important to us to message to the Metroid fan that there was a Metroid Prime experience in development, as we showed Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS," Reggie retorted to a question from Game Informer about Metroid Prime 4. "You just launched a new system, when are you going to bring me a Metroid on that platform?" was not what we wanted that fan to ask. We warned you that it would arrive. We wanted to concentrate on such games this year since there are a lot of them that will debut in the first half of next year and between [now]. You may be certain that Metroid Prime 4 is still under development and moving along well.

Even if some people are becoming impatient since Nintendo hasn't released any video yet, I believe we all sort of assumed this would take some time.
