A look at Quake II Remastered on the Korean Ratings Board

Upcoming announcement about QuakeCon?

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, the go-to source for spoilers, is back at it again, supposedly revealing the details of an upcoming remake of id Software's Quake II, one of the greatest shooters ever made.

Activision hasn't formally announced the remaster yet, but we've been here before: the remaster of the original Quake was leaked by game ratings board before it was officially shown at QuakeCon, the yearly meeting of everything id. It seems somewhat fitting that Quake II Remastered will be featured at QuakeCon 2023, which is slated to happen in just over a month.

Quake II is a violent sci-fi shooter that was first launched in 1997, at the height of the second big FPS craze. The game follows top-tier marine Bitterman as he uses an array of bombastic weapons to fight off an entire alien invasion. Before Call of Duty was even considered, critics and fans praised Quake II for its clever, interconnected stages, multiple player characters, and dedication to chaotic destruction. The game went on to become a mainstay on the early online multiplayer circuit.

We promise to notify you as soon as an official announcement is about to occur. August 10–13, 2023, is QuakeCon 2023, which is held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
