The much anticipated release date for WayForward Games' revived retro rerelease River City Girls Zero has finally been revealed. The beloved Famicom game will be back on February 14 for Nintendo Switch, fully translated and ready to play. This spring, an Xbox, PC, and PlayStation port will be released.
The Super Famicom title Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka, which was the first game in the Kunio-kun series to feature cutesy ass-kickers Kyoko and Misako in action, has been reimagined as River City Girls Zero. In addition to being a completely translated version of the 1994 Japan-only release, River Girls Girls Zero has brand-new manga-style cinematics, an entertaining animation start sequence, and a brand-new theme song that was written and sung by the amazing Megan McDuffee.Although River City Girls Zero will debut digitally on Switch on February 14, it is important to note that numerous physical versions of the game are currently being developed by boutique store Limited Run Games.River City Girls Zero is now available for pre-order on the official LRG website. It will be released for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch in a standard boxed version or as a funky Collector's Edition with a poster, CD soundtrack, and adorable action figures of our girls dressed in iconic '90s fashion. Moreover, a selection of clothing is offered, such as baseball hats and shirts.As Kunio-kun fans wait for the release of the full-fledged sequel River City Girls 2,, which is slated to appear on PC and console platforms later in 2022, the retro-style action of RCG Zero should offer them a pleasant little diversion.
