Unfortunately, Guardians, we are unable to disobey the rules as Savathûn desired. A bug that enabled players to get double prizes from the Dual Destiny mission—two rolling on the Prismatic-based Exotic class item—was patched by Bungie in Destiny 2.
The Final Shape came with Dual Destiny, an exotic mission. Within, players cooperate with a fellow Guardian to solve a number of cooperative encounters and puzzles. Players get a random roll on their Prismatic class item at the conclusion of the task, but it didn't take long for the community to figure out a cunning move.Guardians might work with the other player to pick up the same prize at the same time if they belonged to the same class. As long as they rushed to the map's edge to be transported back in after going out of bounds, it enabled the team to obtain another roll on the unclaimed class item. That isn't the case anymore since Bungie fixed the exploit.
Bungie only said, "Fixed an issue where it was possible to earn double Exotic class items," in their update notes dated June 25. There wasn't much information provided, but the outcome is obvious: players will need to rely on other strategies in order to harvest the desired Exotic class item roll.
For the Exotic class items to begin dropping in the Pale Heart, players will still need to unlock Dual Destiny and finish it at least once. However, it appears that there is now less of a reason to run the mission itself repeatedly, particularly if you are unable to find a partner. Nevertheless, each chest that is opened within the Pale Heart will provide Exotic class goods; it simply may take a little more effort to find them.
