Destiny 2The PvE meta has changed once again, and sniper rifles are now expected to be the primary damage choice for the majority of engagements for the first time in a long time. This may not be good news for Guardians who struggle with accuracy, but with new Episode: Echoes Act 2 Artifact Perks and some tweaking, the weapon class becomes quite appealing.Over the course of a Destiny 2 expansion, Bungie makes periodic changes to the game's balance, nerfing some Exotic effects, abilities, and weapons and increasing others. The studio may now do this more regularly when new Acts for the episodes broadcast thanks to the transition to Episodes for The Final Shape. Act 2 of Episode: Echoes introduced a new row to the Hunter's Journal Artifact in addition to a few minor adjustments. These Artifact Perks are optional, although they greatly improve Solar sniper weapons in particular.
Act 2 power creeps sniper guns in Episode: Echoes
Although the recently added Perks to the Hunter's Journal Artifact are powerful on their own, sniper rifles received an additional boost from a custom modification. According to the July 11 This Week in Destiny message, snipers had a 50% decrease in PvE flinch. Although this modification won't directly boost the strength of these weapons, it will make it simpler to fire continuously, which will activate one of the more potent new Artifact Perks. At the bottom of the Hunter's Journal, players will discover a new row of Artifact Perks upon logging into Destiny 2.
Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifle
Authorized Mods: Scavenger
Incendiary Rifle Rounds
Solar Fulmination
Sniper’s Meditation
The Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifle is available in the first column, while Authorized Mods: Scavenger is available in the second. But when the third column appears and grants Incendiary Rifle Rounds, things really get hot. These administer Scorch to targets that Solar sniper precision hits have been aimed at. The fourth column presents Solar Fulmination as a counteroffer. Ignitions do greater damage with this Artifact Perk, covering a wider area of effect. Sniper's Meditation, the final column's feature, allows players to target foes with sniper bullets for extended periods of time while piling damage, maintaining stability, and reloading quickly.Players will be able to consistently Scorch and Ignite opponents using Solar sniper rifles, but as time goes on, the weapon itself will do more damage and grow easier to keep laying waste to enemies. These Perks will be most useful to players during extended damage periods of boss engagements; however, Authorized Mods: Scavenger and Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifle will help turn Solar snipers into more of a Swiss army knife. Any Barrier Champions dumb enough to step into a Guardian's path will be dispatched quickly by Anti-Barrier, while inexpensive Scavenger upgrades guarantee the sniper's ammunition is constantly available.
The meta
What the Worm Whispers Exotic sniper, with its White Nail Intrinsic Trait, makes exceptional use of these Perks. If players can strike every precise hit with its tiny clip, White Nail lets Whisper of the Worm replenish its magazine. Guardians who play their cards correctly may use Sniper's Meditation to unleash some really insane effects by continuously depleting Whisper of the Worm's reserves. Additionally, since it is a sun sniper, the exotic weapon is enhanced in its damage output by sun Fulmination and Incendiary Rifle Rounds.Naturally, Whisper of the Worm isn't the best option in every circumstance since its full power can only be realized during protracted damage stages. However, there is a solution for shorter damage windows with solar sniper rifles: Still Hunt. When this Exotic Solar sniper first surfaced alongside The Final Shape, it gained notice for its propensity to consistently deliver Golden Gun Super shots. Even though the pistol was somewhat nerfed before Act 2, its explosive damage is still competitive and may be used quickly.Exotic sniper rifles are set to become the PvE damage meta when compared to the alternatives. Whisper of the Worm is an easy weapon to use; simply hit your crits. It will outperform most linear fusion rifles in extended damage phases. When compared to certain exotic outliers, such as Xenophage, the same conclusion may be drawn. It's difficult to reject Still Hunt for faster damage windows. Still Hunt is still appealing even in the face of rocket launchers since it can easily be incorporated into a bait and switch or bipod rotation. Players may still use a non-Exotic Heavy weapon as an Energy weapon, folding in a rocket's damage potential rather than going up against it.Certain encounters, such as the sword-friendly second encounter in Salvation's Edge, will still function well with different kinds of weapons. However, for PvE damage, solar snipers are currently often the best option. Act 2 of Episode: Echoes makes the weaponry too awesome to ignore and, in the process, simpler to wield – at least until the next meta-shift occurs.
