In an exclusive preview for Act 2 of Episode: Echoes, Bungie unveiled some completely new stuff for Destiny 2. Additionally, players will soon get access to new Battlegrounds, weapons, and armor, suggesting that the second Act of Echoes is heating up.Nevertheless, While players were left feeling satisfied with The Final Shape, many were not as pleased with the first episode. While the first Episode, Echoes, seemed a lot like a Season with more timegating, the first Act of the debut Episode was supposed to provide a chance to move away from the worn-out norms of Seasons. While Bungie did declare that it will experiment with deleting time-gates in Episode 2, the developer also held a preview webcast to showcase new features for the rest of Echoes.
Distinguishing Between Strikes and Battlegrounds
Act 2 of Episode: Echoes will include three new Battlegrounds, according to Bungie. Most intriguingly, the company is attempting something more similar to a sequence of linked Strikes rather than the standard Patrol Zone-based cookie-cutter design seen in Battlegrounds games. The three Battlegrounds will further the current narrative and immerse players in the heart of Nessus.Players explore the Nessus Cistern in the Battleground Delve, which is shown throughout the broadcast, in an attempt to determine why Radiolaria is emptying nearby. The investigation uncovers that the Guardians are being pushed further into the Well of Flame by the Fallen, who have started an arms race for the Echo piece."Players will be looking at the story of like, 'where is Radiolaria going, where is it flowing through?'" said Ryan Harris, senior activity designer. Thus, in Battleground 1, you are essentially identifying and determining the destination of all this Radiolaria; in Battleground 2, you are observing the real flow and direction of all this Radiolaria towards the center of Nessus; and in Battleground 3, you are literally observing the actual location of all this Radiolaria. It so makes a sincere effort to narrate the tale of the expedition to Nessus' core.Harris went on to describe the new Battleground experiences, pointing out that they will mostly include new terrain and resources. Harris also mentioned the new teleportation feature for Wyrvern foes and the team's intention to defy convention by experimenting with bosses in addition to the landscape makeover. One boss may not even have a health barrier, according to the designer's hints.Episode 10: Echoes Act 2 weaponsBungie unveiled three new weapons—including a resurrected fan favorite—that will be included in Echoes Act 2. The studio debuted Aberrant Action, a brand-new rocket sidearm, first. During the presentation, the solar weapon was shown with an Incandescent roll and Heal Clip, igniting and healing the player. When pointing down the sights, the sidearm also has a special animation where the top of the pistol folds out to expose a reticle. The Corrasion heavy pulse rifle was the next weapon to be discussed. This two-round burst Arc weapon was shown using Voltshot and High-Impact Reserves. The developers also said that Frenzy will be playable on the weapon and that good PvP performance was anticipated. The reintroduction of the Perfect Paradox shotgun completed the weapon preview. A few new Perks have been introduced to the pool, in addition to the ability for players to seek for their old favorites among the rolls.
Take a first look at the armor for Solstice 2024
In addition to the new material that will only be available for Episode: Echoes Act 2, Bungie also mentioned the impending Solstice holiday event. The team gave Guardians a little preview of the holiday cosmetics that would be released, without going into the specifics of the event's activities. The studio showcased all three classes' looks while announcing that it was aiming for an adventurer-inspired aesthetic. The Warlock armor's basic colors are mostly brown and gold, with round yellow projections on the gloves and helmet. The majority of the lower torso is covered by the robes, which split like a peacoat close to the shins.Titans will be dressed in fur-lined, armoured military leggings and a large, visored helmet with a fin on the rear. Similar yellow circular projections surround the legs and helmet of the Titan armor, but there also seems to be orange light emanating from the shoulders. Intriguingly, it seems like tiny rockets are attached to the boots of Titans.Hunters may now accessorize themselves with a cropped jacket, armored boots, and a stylish body suit. This is accentuated with a gas mask helmet, some adorable sunglasses, and a hood, cape, and scarf combination for the class item. The arms and eyeglasses seem to have the same orange glow as the Titan cosmetics, while yellow circles protrude from different places on the armor like the other classes.
