Episode 3 of The Expanse: A Telltale Series Review

The Expanse: A Telltale Series begins with Episode 3. reaches the story's halfway point. Drummer and her team are seen navigating the Artemis toward the locations listed on a data card in the first episode, after the conclusion of the second episode. The Artemis is nearing the site of those coordinates, which is an abandoned space station, at the start of Episode 3.

It's interesting to note that this was among the first space stations ever built. It was constructed soon after the Epstein Drive was developed, opening the door for interplanetary space travel inside the solar system. This station was in operation prior to the OPA's founding and predates the name "Belters." Some of the first people to leave Earth and dwell in space called this station home.

An incredible story episode that has relevance to the show

In the world of The Expanse, The Expanse: A Telltale Series has essentially been a stand-alone experience up until this point. It occurs earlier than the events that take place in the six-season television series, to be more precise. On the other hand, the overarching storyline in Episode 3 really makes a connection to the program and provides us with a more thorough examination of the events that preceded it.Sincerely, I wasn't sure whether Deck Nine would really carry out this plan, but I was interested if it would. In the end, the events of The Expanse: A Telltale Series are considered canon inside the world of The Expanse. In my mind, it would essentially be a stand-alone tale told from the perspective of a beloved television character. However, let's be honest. There would almost certainly need to be some kind of connection to the program if the intention is to make this a really memorable experience. Now that it has, the narrative undoubtedly has more resonance and significance. More intriguing to me is where the next two episodes will take us.

The game loop is still active

.As I said in my thoughts after seeing Episode 2, I was worried that each episode will focus on looking at ship debris. That's what we did for the most part over the first two episodes. Thankfully, much of this episode takes place within a real space station, even if investigating a building in zero gravity is unavoidably very similar to exploring the wreckage of a derelict spacecraft. While the gameplay element of evading lasers was introduced in Episode 2, Episode 3 introduces a new problem. There are several locations aboard the space station where electricity must be directed via cables to link a grid of power boxes. To be honest, it's quite easy to do; all you have to do is find the wire that runs to the next box and activate it. Once again, the main experience of The Expanse: A Telltale Series is narrative in nature. Even if they may be basic, it's encouraging to see the developer strive to include some fresh gameplay aspects with every episode.

Yes, my decisions did matter.

In Episode 2, it seemed like my decisions were beginning to have an impact. However, it becomes abundantly evident in Episode 3 that my decisions do matter. The episode ended with two significant events that left me wondering: did I have any influence over this outcome? As is customary with Telltale games, you may see the statistical comparison between your selections and those of other players at the conclusion of each episode. One of the major events seems to occur regardless of circumstances, whereas the other major event seems to be avoidable. I apologize for the lack of specificity; I don't want to give anything away. But things become much more fascinating. I speed-ran Episode 3 once again out of sheer curiosity, hoping to alter the result. Rest assured, I want to continue using my first playthrough till Episode 4. I find it most intriguing to live with your decisions when you use these kinds of names. However, I was quite aback to see that even after making adjustments, the same result still occurred. I might be wrong, but I believe that the ending in Episode 3 was influenced by a decision I made at the end of Episode 2, which is fantastic.

Thus far, a good experience

I'm generally feeling quite satisfied with The Expanse: A Telltale Series thus far as we approach the last two episodes. The duration in relation to the pricing point may be my only complaint so far. The five episodes of The Wolf Among Us, which aired for about ten hours, cost $14.99. I've spent little less than four hours watching The Expanse: A Telltale Series through three of the five episodes so far. Additionally, the cost is $39.99, which is more than twice as much as The Wolf Among Us.This has been an enjoyable journey across the world of The Expanse, ignoring the duration and cost. And as we go into the latter part of the tale, I think it's going to become even more fascinating. We will examine Episode 4 in two weeks. And the last episode of The Expanse: A Telltale Series will bring the story to an end on September 21.[The publisher supplied a retail build of the game for this review. To capture the whole experience, the score will be saved until the last episode.]
