Another round of Summer Games Done Quick has come to an end. Even though we are sorry to see the round-the-clock speedruns come to an end, the final contribution total is usually remarkable. They raised an incredible $2.5 million for Médecins Sans Frontières, the charity that supports Doctors Without Borders, surpassing the amount collected by last summer.
The Hilton Minneapolis hosted this year's Summer Games Done Quick event from June 30 to July 6. It was streamed live on GDQ's Twitch channel for a week in addition to being attended in person. You may now catch up on everything you might have missed by watching every run on YouTube.
The week was jam-packed with memorable runs, as usual. There were synchronized Alan Wake II dances and a Low% Ninja Gaiden run that, although not exactly going as intended, was nonetheless exhilarating and motivating. Even beloved Shiba Inu Peanut Butter returned to the tournament with JSR, smashing a home run in this time.Major League Baseball is presented by Ken Griffey Jr. for SNES. Classic staples such as a four-way Super Metroid Any%race, as well as recent arrivals like Another Crab’s Treasure, whom Spicee and LilAggy defeated in a head-to-head race that lasted less than an hour.

Games $51 million has now been raised for charity by Done Quick
.With Summer Games Done Quick 2024, GDQ will have raised an astounding $51 million in total over the course of its career. This figure incorporates all of the marathon's 14-year history, including the all-female Frame Fatales speedrunning displays and Awesome Games Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick. Over the years, the following charities have received support: AbleGamers, National Women's Law Center, Autism Research Organization, Doctors Without Borders, Malala Fund, and Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Speaking about Frame Fatales, GDQ's next major event will be centered on them. Watch Flame Fatales live on the official Twitch channel from August 18 to August 25. Following that, Pittsburgh will host the renowned Awesome Games Done Quick marathon for the first time every year from January 5–12, 2025.
