It looks like the Japanese release Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection may be getting ready for a western localization in the near future, so fans of the River City/Kunio-kun series in the West should probably start getting ready for another downtown brawl. Good luck, kid.
An impending release named Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle was noted in a recent entry on the PlayStation database hunting website GameStat, which also revealed the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. This information was uncovered by Gematsu. An picture featuring a collection of vintage Kunio-kun artwork is included in this listing. In all, there were three Double Dragon games and fifteen Kunio-kun titles in the The World Classics Collection. Exciting stuff.
Naturally, Kunio-kun publisher Arc System Works has not formally confirmed this release; but, considering the popularity of WayForward's River City Girls, which brought a lot of new fans to the River City franchise, The best moment to introduce this selection of great face-bashing songs to the western world would be in 2020.
