Since everyone knows there's no greater conceivable crossover than seeing our favorite characters battle it out until they're almost dead, fighting games are the ideal setting for a crossover.
In fighting games, most crossovers and guest appearances are fantastic because, apart from providing us with crazy interactions, they inspire faith that disparate firms may collaborate to create magical experiences. Even when they're funny, some things just make you ask, "What the hell were they thinking?" Those are the topics in this list.
10. Street Fighter x Tekken's peculiar Mega Man
To cut a long tale short, Capcom introduced a notorious version of Mega Man to SFxT, which had only ever appeared on a hilariously hideous US box cover art. This was in contrast to the version of Mega Man that we all know and love. He's simply too elderly, and he moves and looks weird. Mega Man is intended to have a childlike appearance, right? This person seems to have worked on his cosplay outfit throughout his adolescence and much of his adult life, feeling that it was finished only when his midlife crisis struck.
Was there a covert plot by the developers to undermine Tekken? Perhaps, but this is Capcom, a business that hasn't hesitated to make fast money off of DLC material, working hard to make a dearly unloved concept a reality. I think Capcom should get all the credit possible for this one.
The only explanation for "bad cover art Mega Man"'s lower ranking on the list is that Capcom knew they were making a joke when they created this incredible beast.
9. Soul Calibur IV
's Yoda/VaderI will always find it strange when characters from science fiction books appear in fantastical settings. They seem like respectable additions to a sword-fighting game squad because, well, they can wield swords. Either Kilik is going to be chopped in two after cutting his staff, or the lightsabers are going to look very dumb and pointless. Thus, without Vader battling Yoda, These characters will appear strange throughout every match. Stranger still was that these characters were time-limited exclusives for certain systems, meaning that gamers had to wait three whole months to see them face fight.
8. Killer Instinct's Battletoad
I comprehend Battletoads is a very difficult game, but it doesn't mean it's M-rated. You and I are fully aware that we have had our asses kicked in online games by children whose brains would explode with fear upon seeing The Ring.the first scene of. It's strange (and humorous) to kidnap a helpless war toad and throw it into a violent game.It doesn't help that the toad in question, Rash, underwent a daring makeover. Forever, Rash will be a sweet little toad whose sole transgression is bad driving. Even if it all takes place off-camera, seeing him being stabbed by hundreds of ice spikes will never seem acceptable.
7. Soul Calibur 2
SpawnOne of the greatest and strangest characters in comic book history is Todd McFarlane's Spawn. The fact that I watched the Spawn movie and the only negative impact it had on my mental health was that it made me sort of love the character means that nothing will ever make me lose my admiration for them. But Spawn's appearance in Soul Calibur 2 seems terribly out of place.Even with his gloomy gothic appearance, Spawn is a contemporary figure who exists in the present era. In the vibrant, fantastical medieval environment, he can't help but feel like an odd alien. Since this is the series that includes Voldo, I realize I'm making a lot of claims, but you already know this to be true.
6. Super Smash Bros.' Solid Snake
For an extended while, I was unable to identify anything strange about Solid Snake's inclusion in the Smash cast. Super Smash Bros. is in this case. The sole real goal of the series is to provide gamers with enjoyable gameplay, and the Metal Gear Solid Even at its most earnestly serious moments, a series can't help but seem ridiculous. What isn't right? The realization, in my opinion, that it's just strange to see a realistic portrayal of an adult man from a series whose insights actually foresaw, among other things, the dredge that social media would be for humanity, came about in 2023 when Jigglypuff and Pikachu were being shot. That's it; Snake was only in Super Smash Bros.Palworld when I was still not prepared for it.
5. In Mortal Kombat 1, Omni-Man/Homelander
Even if you ignore the fact that Homelander and Omni-Man are much more powerful than any characters in the MK universe, this one is still strange. - a cosmos in which there are real gods. They were both included in the game's introduction along with Peacemaker, who makes sense since he uses Kombat even though he is a Mortal. The most peculiar thing about this, in my opinion, is that Homelander and Omni-Man are parodies of Superman, who is essentially a product of the and hence existing in the MK reality.Series: Injustice. Just create a fighting game where every character is modeled like Superman, and then let me use Goku to defeat them all.
4. Tekken 7
's NeganSince Negan is a well-known figure from the television series The Walking Dead, it is likely that either TWD is set in the Tekken universe, or Negan entered through a portal and is now utilizing his time to spread awareness of zombie outbreaks that are threatening entire worlds in various universes. In addition, it seems that competitors in the King of Iron Fist competition are permitted to carry a maximum of two swords, a single pistol, and a knife to a knucklefight. Characters like as Noctis, Master Raven, and others brought their own accessories to the battle, except from Yoshimitsu, who I believe is too strange and frightening for a security guard to approach over the usage of his blade prior to the combat. Then Negan appears, carrying a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that is probably coated with infectious guck. Even by Tekken standards, it seems a little out of reach.
3. A Car in the Megamix of Fighter
The most amazing feature of Fighter's Megamix is that, contrary to what the name would suggest, this is more than simply a fighting game crossover. SupermixFighters thought it would be a good idea to bring many characters from non-fighting games into the ring, but it was also completely reckless. One of these characters is Hornet, an automobile from Daytona USA—I'm not kidding. Not only can it effortlessly roll over its pitiful competitors, but it's also an anthropomorphic vehicle that functions as a kind of quasi-transformer, able to walk on two wheels while using the other two for punching. The first video game crossover event was called FM, and although it never quite reached the heights of the Smash series, it was never surpassed in terms of ridiculousness. To illustrate this, the automobile isn't even the most peculiar character in the game.
2. In Fighters Megamix
, a palm treeAs it happens, the creators at AM2 decided that having a fighting automobile in the game wasn't strange enough, so they added a hidden character that is just the palm tree from their company's emblem.Yes, it's completely insane, but it was also ahead of its time since it seemed to have foreseen the strange custom characters that would eventually infiltrate the Soul Calibur online matches.1. Fight Club's Fred DurstRecall how you had to go through .Tekken 2s arcade once using each character, then with Kazuya, in order to make the Devil playable? You just need to finish Fight Club once to reveal an even more sinister character: Fred Durst. This game is an amazing triumph in the art of missing the purpose.Fred isn't even a logo for a company or an inanimate thing. Even if I think Mr. Durst is human, I still can't see him in this game as anything except the most strange guest star in the history of video games. He merely exists; he doesn't even have a voice or a plot.Yes, I am aware that Fred Durst is well-known for his songs about shattering things, but have you ever seen him perform? Perhaps he just doesn't speak about it. Fred, you did a great job. Cheers to your well-earned comeback.
