The porting of Super Double Dragon from 1992 and Double Dragon Advance from 2003 to contemporary platforms has been announced by Arc System Works. Furthermore, the two titles paired with the current Double Dragon IV and the NES Double Dragon 1-3 will be released physically. Regretfully, the physical collection is limited to Asia.

Nevertheless, Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the series director, made a comeback with Double Dragon IV in 2017. It amuses me since he is acknowledged for his contribution on Super Double Dragon. Anyway, when it was first released in 1992, it was met with a very lackluster reaction. It's said that this is because the game is hurried a lot. While still enjoyable, the genre of belt-scrolling brawlers was becoming too saturated with the 1989 hit game Final Fight.
