William Gibson

, NeuromancerThere can only be one author on this list, and that would be the outstanding William Gibson. He presented us to some of the most revolutionary notions in science fiction via his extraordinary writing style and vivid imagination. Examining this 1984 book shows how much of the future he foresaw was realized long before it did.Neuromancer gives us an idea of what a Netrunner may be like. They need surgery to regain access to cyberspace after being barred from it earlier owing to harm to their neural systems. They must do a task for a Corps member, however, and if they begin to goof about, poison sacks will harm our character's neurological system once again and take them out of cyberspace permanently.Punk rock underground networks, cutting edge technology, nefarious companies, and illicit activity abound throughout the novel. We are taken on a fast-paced, intricate journey through the future world of cyberspace, the internet, and back alley punk transactions in this intricate and convoluted thriller. It is a very sophisticated story, and any lover of Cyberpunk 2077 should read it. If you like it, you should know that it is included in the Sprawl Trilogy, so go read it.

Masamune Shirow in "Ghost in the Shell"

My jaw fell to learn that this iconic comic had been snatched up by Hollywood for a live-action adaptation. Even while I wasn't shocked by how horribly they destroyed it, I was still unhappy. I was aware that it would be many people's introduction to the manga and anime, and that it would discourage them from checking out one of the greatest cyberpunk compilations out there.Ghost in the Shell revolves on the idea of when one ceases to be human if almost every component of their body can be replaced with cybernetics. In the cybernetics shell, where's your ghost? Also extensively discussed on this topic is Cyberpunk 2077. using CyberPhychos. It's possible to become too tech-savvy and lose your humanity and sanity.

Ghost in the Shell explores the neon-lit streets of a cyberpunk future with a bunch of criminal warriors. They take harsh measures against cybercriminals who take advantage of the global fascination in cybernetics. Hacking occurs, mechanical bodies are taken over, and the novels go into the philosophical underpinnings of what it is to be human. They contain page-turning action mixed perfectly with very affecting moments of meditation, and they are exquisitely drawn.

Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash

Snow Crash is a futuristic, very fashionable, and crazy journey through the corporate-owned planet. The companies have separated and fragmented Earth. Humans are become nothing more than cogs in enormous corporate machinery as private military compete for worldwide contracts. But somehow, our eponymously titled protagonist, Hiro Protagonist, is entangled in both international diplomacy and the mafia. Snow Crash is a comedy that hovers just on the brink of absurdity, sometimes parodying the Cyberpunk subgenre and other times just indulging in it.This Cyberpunk book takes us on a journey through several fantastic worlds via a succession of massive, action-packed sequences. Many of the weapons and settings seen in Stephenson's novels are blatantly ripped off in Cyberpunk 2077. The novel features terrible weaponry like as pencil-sized weapons of mass devastation, cybernetic brain hackers on the ground, and body-mounted miniguns that shoot depleted uranium shards through 5-inch-thick steel. Cyberpunk 2077. definitely mirrors these ideas.Go over Snow Crash. demonstrates the many stylistic parallels between Cyberpunk 2077 and Stephenson's universe. Much of the idea for the game came from the fact that, in his capacity as a writer, he is not hesitant to depict some rather dramatic scenarios that cover whole countries. The book's intricate politics and economics serve as an influence for the whole cyberpunk subgenre as well as for 2077.

Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira

The six-book collection of Akira is the perfect choice if you want to stock an entire shelf with masterpieces in both art and literature. Over many, many pages, this flawlessly written work of fiction depicts the horrific tale of post-nuclear Neo-Tokyo and the revelation of the horrors that remain in its aftermath. We follow a group of motorcycle riders as they set out to free a buddy who has been kidnapped by a company. Cyberpunk 2077.

If one were to apply the phrase "every frame a painting" to anything, it would be the assortment of Akira novels. Because each cell might be blown up to poster size and hung on a wall, cyberpunk as a whole is greatly inspired by it. The genre will always reflect the motorcycles, tangled, cable-strewn cities, nasty punk biker clothes, and robot-centric society.

Nnedi Okorafor-Noor

In contrast to cyberpunk, which is usually set in Tokyo or the US, Nnedi Okorafor's Noor offers a different setting. Even though the book is set in a futuristic Nigeria, it nevertheless has all the elements of a traditional science fiction book. Mega corporations dominate society, enslaving individuals via the sale of unimaginatively costly cybernetic prosthesis and the forced service required to repay them.Noor adopts a fresh perspective on politics and history, not only in Nigeria but around the globe. There are many compelling arguments made about the accessibility of therapies that may change a handicapped person's life. Okorafor also examines the history of capitalism in Nigeria from a forward-looking perspective, as well as the effects of the land ownership and farmer dispute in the region.Noor is a great work of fiction to take up if you're seeking for the capitalist, gritty criminal, cyber futuristic themes of Cyberpunk 2077 in your novels but want a fresh place and some hard-hitting perspectives.

Philip K. Dick: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

I'm writing a science fiction literature paper , but can I write even one without mentioning Dick? Not quite yet. Nonetheless, whether it's a science fiction book or a novella, there's always good reason to recognize his amazing works of writing. Here, it serves as the inspiration for the beloved cyberpunk movie Blade Runner. Many of the fundamental concepts of the genre are present in this novel, even if it may not be as neon-heavy as many of the others on this list. The investigator that serves as our primary character has the responsibility of tracking down and killing escaped androids. He can identify who is and isn't human by administering tests. As a result, he faces many moral dilemmas and starts to feel sympathy for the almost human robots.Cyberpunk 2077 is a clear reflection of the themes of capitalist rulers, human dependence on computers, and gritty neo-noir crime literature. The plot of the most recent episode of Phantom Liberty transports us to the clichéd, closed, and smoky detective's office. The narrative takes the hallmarks of the Marlowe tales and blends them with the ambiguity and paranoia of the Dicks book. Flip through the pages of this cyberpunk deep dive to see where many of the concepts of robots and the human aspect originated.

John Wagner as Judge Dredd

While it may not be the first book that comes to mind for everyone when considering novels related to Cyberpunk 2007, I believe it is still significant. The cyberpunk genre is known for its portrayal of filth and despair, as is seen in the megacities of Judge Dredd. The world is ruled by megacorporations, and there is a growing divide between the general populace and the very wealthy.Cyberpunk 2077's medicines and cybernetic enhancements are obviously derived from Wagner's worse realms. People are now completely enamored with improvements and how simple cosmetic surgery and technology are. In the world of Dredd, it's commonplace to sell stolen weapons, organs obtained illegally, and upgrades.JUDGE DREDD cyberpunk 2077 books

Luetin09Massive monoliths grow in millions of cities surrounded by dry deserts. The arid, nuclear deserts of Judge Dredd coexist with the wastelands of Cyberpunk 2077. The only life beyond the city gates are mutants and rebels struggling to live after the cities were destroyed by bombs and rendered uninhabitable. It is evident that there are similarities between Cyberpunk 2077 and Judge Dredd's novels.

Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon

Despite the fact that the Netflix adaptation has performed rather well, I strongly advise fans of Cyberpunk 2077 to read the novels. They are chock-full of noir crime story clichés, futuristic technology, and some really gripping action sequences that will keep you turning the pages.Similar to many other novels on the list, the protagonist of this cyberpunk fiction is a detective. Kovaks must determine who killed the guy who hired him by examining his corpse, or rather, his sleeve. In the future of Altered Carbon, individuals may live almost forever since consciousness and the body are distinct entities.

Following his war crimes, Kovaks is removed from an enforced storage facility. An elderly man who has lived for hundreds of years hires him to investigate who murdered his final corpse. Despite his lack of recollection, he believes someone is trying to harm him.Altered Carbon has everything the sensuality, technology, and danger associated with the cyberpunk subculture. Being a guy above the law, Kovaks infuses the appropriate amounts of crime into the punk element throughout the works. The novel explores the struggle to exist if one is not wealthy enough and the possibility of immortality if one is.

Vurt – Jeff Noon

This is a novel that I believe served as inspiration for Cyberpunk 2077, however it is definitely not recommended for casual readers. It is an incredible novel despite being profound, sparse, difficult, and even perplexing. It explores the themes of mind-altering substances, a disconnected world, and shared hallucinations while playing with the concepts of reality.

The journeys and substances used in Cyberpunk 2077 promote the notion of a common but externalized other reality. The medications used by the populace in Vurt are entirely unreal, but they are so widespread as to be mistaken for reality. The possibilities in a future where medications are made are explored in this book.Vert transports us on a hallucinogenic journey as the main character looks for a unique strain of the popular narcotic. He has to re-enter the voyage that his sister was inadvertently lost on since she became lost in the realm of hallucinations. There's no doubting that this is not a book for the average reader. Noon's ability to create a compelling setting and write beautifully.

Raymond Chandler, from the Phillip Marlowe Collection

These novels do not conform to the cyberpunk subgenre.I believe that every lover of Cyberpunk 2077 should read William Gibson's. The game and the genre in general are definitely influenced by the grim world of neo-noir crime novels. The gruff private eye makes his way through cases in these vintage detective tales. In Chandler's uber-stylish detective books, violence, rain-soaked streets, and fabulous femme fatales are all standard fare. The streets that Marlowe tramples are from the 1920s, yet the noises they make are evocative of the cyberpunk future. With gangs in complete control and crime at an all-time high, our disillusioned, drunken protagonist must navigate these dangerous times. The criminals usually attempt to assassinate Marlowe, and the crime is always considerably greater than what the first plan allows on. Cyberpunk 2077 is replete with familiar faces—the shadowy alleys and evil individuals of long past. Read these masterpieces if you want a deeper understanding of the character development in the genre.
