While Hello Games had been hinting at another No Man's Sky update with cryptic messages, they have now revealed the whole plan. Or the first part of the whole scheme, anyhow.
Known as "Worlds Part 1," the No Man's Sky 5.0 update is a big one. The whole galaxy is getting a makeover thanks to the upgrade, which also makes exploring more immersive than ever. The way planets seem will be drastically altered by some major visual changes, such as gravitational anomalies that produce floating islands reminiscent of Pandora, but I'm even more enthused about all the little details Hello Games is introducing.
New lighting and shadow technologies will add realism to everything you see on a planet's surface. The addition of new weather, wind, and water systems will make everything seem more realistic. Ocean waves now spontaneously arise in response to shifting wind patterns due to changes in water behavior. Incoming storms and the vegetation on planetary surfaces will likewise be carried by the wind. The sky are more colorful than ever after a storm passes and you can finally glance up because of the new lighting effects and clouds.Alongside those aesthetic adjustments, there are also some new gameplay features. I can't wait to meet some of the many new species that will be added to the game, including some walking, maybe sentient structures. In addition to adding additional obstacles to the game, enemies such as the enormous insect queen may also be defeated with the help of the unlocked Liquidator battle mech. Every place has something fresh to learn or overcome.Every time a No Man Sky update makes the game seem brand-new again, I feel like I was taken off guard, even if at this point I shouldn't be shocked. The voyage of No Man's Sky is far from done, and it really is the game that never gets old. "The update is called 'Part 1' because, I guess, there's much more to come," Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray explains in a deep dive video examining the new improvements to the game. I'm excited to experience shock and happiness once again.
