How to get Final Fantasy XIV's Lesser Apollyon Shell (FFXIV)

In order to construct advanced weapons and equipment in Final Fantasy XIV, you will need a specific element known as Gemsaps. These are made by Alchemists, and Lesser Apollyon Shells are a common element in all of them.

On the eastern side of Kozama'uka, there is a little area where Lesser Apollyon is located. Even though their spawn area is small, a lot of them congregate there, thus you can harvest a lot of Shells there very rapidly.

Although they don't appear to have the poorest drop rate of monster drops in Dawntrail, the Shells aren't a definite drop. Sometimes you may defeat a Lesser Apollyon without receiving any shells, but on average, I've gotten between one and three every kill.
