The Naruto series has gained international recognition. Being one of the most popular anime series in the world, it should come as no surprise that it has been adapted into many various forms of media, including video games and light novels. Quite rightly so. We are, after all, discussing ninjas here.
Manga is one of the many spinoffs that it has produced. Continue reading to find out what those spinoffs are.
Naruto: The Scarlet Spring and the Seventh Hokage
The Boruto: Naruto the Movie is preceded by Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring. The manga centers on Uchiha Sarada, Sasuke's daughter, and is set fifteen years after the Fourth Shinobi World War. Sarada's existential crises and her quest to uncover the truth about who she is are at the center of the narrative. But in the process, she becomes involved with an enigmatic foe who has ties to Orochimaru and the Uchiha Clan.Masashi Kishimoto authored and drew relatively few Naruto spinoffs, including Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring. The single volume compilation of the short series, which aired from April 27, 2015 to July 6, 2015, was released.
Naruto: The Path Illuminated by the Full MoonThe Path Illuminated by the Full Moon in Naruto is Kishimoto's second spinoff, which he wrote and illustrated. This manga, in contrast to the previous one, is a one-shot that serves as a lead-up to the Boruto manga series. Actually, it's part of the extra material for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations's first volume.
In terms of the narrative, the last member of Team Konohamaru, Mitsuki, is highlighted. Like Sarada's introspection, Mitsuki finds herself in a perplexing predicament. He only has one opportunity to recover his memories after waking up hurt and without them: by falling for Orochimaru's trick. As Orochimaru exposes himself to be Mitsuki's dad, things get increasingly confusing.
Both Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
and Boruto: Naruto Next GenerationsThe original Naruto series has a spinoff called Boruto, which is also its sequel. It tells the tale of Naruto's kid as he lives up to his own ninja standards. But Boruto takes a more contemporary attitude than the original. It brings technology and extraterrestrials into the well-known ninja universe. However, similar to Naruto, it has a substantial timeskip. The pre-timeskip story is Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, while the post-timeskip is Two Blue Vortex.Updates for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex are released on a monthly basis. The game is still active. With Ukyo Kodachi's assistance, Mikio Ikemoto, Kishimoto's main assistant, has gained control of it.
Rock Lee's Full-Power Ninja Chronicles: Springtime of Youth
This comic offshoot, as the name implies, chronicles the bizarre exploits of Team Guy and Rock Lee. It has no real storyline, which is to be expected with a title like this. It's all silly antics presented in chibi format. It's also a huge success. There were seven tankobon volumes in the series, which lasted from January 2013 to September 2014. An anime adaptation named Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals was also made for it.Photo courtesy of VIZ Media
Naruto: The Sharingan Legend of Chibi Sasuke
Kenji Taira returns with Naruto: Chibi Sasuke's Sharingan Legend, after the popularity of Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth Full-Power Ninja Chronicles. But this time, Uchiha, the casual one, is the center of attention. It includes Sasuke's chibi versions as well as those of Taka, Itachi, and many more characters. The chapters are collected into three volumes, and the series spanned from November 2014 to April 2017.
