Since 2003's Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars were so well-liked, gamers have been waiting years for an official recreation of this timeless role-playing game. The status of a possible reimagining was kept up in the air until recently. Good news, however, is on the way.
The CEO of Saber Interactive, Matthew Karch, said that the Knights of the Old Republic project is still very much in development in a recent interview with IGN. "The game is alive and well," according to the comment, and the team wants to make sure it will "exceed consumer expectations."
In summary, Embracer Group once owned Saber. The studio, however, recently broke away from the parent corporation, and the developer is still in charge of the KOTOR remake.
But other from that, not much else needs to be said. Karch has not been able to provide any further details regarding the remake, therefore we are unsure of its current status. Even while it could still be a little off, it's encouraging to know that work is still very much underway.
Knights of the Old Republic: What's the deal?
Some of you may be wondering why the fan community is giving this 20-year-old game so much attention in this day of remakes and remasters. However, just glance at any list of the greatest role-playing games ever made. There's a high probability that the 2004 sequel or the original Knights of the Old Republic will be mentioned.
It has received almost unanimous praise, with a Metacritic score of 94 out of 100. It was well-known for both its plot and general gameplay, and it took home many honors, including a BAFTA. In addition, it's an early release by BioWare, a company already well-known for the 1998-launched Baldur's Gate series.
Nevertheless, the KOTOR remake hasn't had much to show since the initial trailer due to production issues since its unveiling. Aspyr was supposed to be in charge of the project from the beginning, therefore Saber wasn't even the first person to work on it. As a result, although it's encouraging to hear that the remake is still in the works, it seems to be long off. although a long way away.
