Sunsoft is releasing an official quasi-sequel remake of Ufouria: The Saga, more than thirty years after the game's initial release. Ufouria: The Saga 2 has set a release date of March 1, 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, subsequent to its first announcement.
Through the IGN YouTube channel, Sunsoft released a new teaser that showcases more of the amazing stop-motion feeling style of the sequel. It carries a Kirby's Epic Yarn atmosphere, and the animation well conveys the diorama style.
Ufouria: The Saga , the first game in Sunsoft's Hebereke series, was initially published on the Famicom in 1991. In 1992, it was released in Europe, but it wasn't until 2010 that people in North America could play it on the Wii Virtual Console. If you were hoping for a suitable method to appreciate it without having to cope with the PAL refresh rate after that port and subsequent re-releases, it seems that the follow-up could be the answer.
