Previous to Skyrim's release Todd Howard bragged (waaaaay ago) that some of the most amazing mountains in the game could be scaled. Although much of this is accurate, others believe that there was still room for some experimentation or freedom of movement.
Returning with a new installment of "I Will Stop Tweaking Skyrim," modder JaySerpa When You Take It From My Lifeless, Chilled Hands." This time, they used a mod named Ascend to closely examine the verticality of TES5. In essence, it lets the Dragonborn ascend the "10 hidden mountain peaks" that are scattered over the terrain.
The above video demonstrates its operation. JaySerpa adds that because they haven't altered the "vanilla records," you can very much use it with any other download you have.Skyrim = "Climbrim" + climbing? You'll uncover little clues leading to the mountain's summit when you locate one of these peaks—four are in Solstheim, while the other ones are in the basic game. This might be faint light indications, wind gusts, or pieces of red material. These will assist you in staying on course, although sometimes they may mislead you, according to the modder.Additionally, you'll see in the movie that the player may choose to "climb" up the wall. Vanilla This is absent from Skyrim, and I'm not sure whether Ascend has the feature pre-installed. The mod description page does state that it is compatible with Skyclimb, however it seems that the pathways already established should be enough. Why would you do this, you ask? Well, there are Easter eggs and hidden goodies tucked away in some of the cracks and crevices. You may even get a few benefits. The true prize, of course, is seeing this frigid portion of Tamriel from altitudes you've (maybe never) seen before. Picture yourself gazing down at the World's Throat.Additionally, JaySerpa is holding a little competition for anybody who want to capture images of the scenery from the highest points of these towering mountains. "Any game of your choice from the Nexus Author rewards store" or a $50 donation to a charity in your honor will be awarded as the prize. Simply upload your screen grab to Nexus Mods.Again, we must be in awe of the passion individuals have for modifying games like Skyrim and other titles. The durability of The Elder Scrolls 5 is evident from the fact that it is still being discussed (see, for example, this article), yet the game likely wouldn't exist without all of this fan-made material.
