The last we heard about the ambitious Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London was that Bethesda had released a major update for the main game, which forced the team to postpone the project. Although the release date is yet unknown, it seems to be just a few short seconds away.As stated on X/Twitter and in a recent message on Team FOLON's Discord channel, Fallout: London is merely awaiting Good Old Games' "final green light" before the mod is prepared for release. As a result of the developer sending "several builds over to GOG for QA testing," it now seems to be a waiting game. The team claims it "should be good to go" when this is finished, although we're not quite sure when that will be. Possibly days. Possibly hours. To be honest, all of my thoughts are just conjecture at this time.
Once again, what is Fallout: London?
Like with other Bethesda games, the vanilla experience is often greatly enhanced with the assistance of devoted players and members of the modding community.
Fallout: London is no exception, except from the fact that it's a very ambitious project. Thanks to a significantly altered version of
Fallout 4, it transports the English capital city to a post-apocalyptic reality, as the name indicates. Its enormous breadth has earned it the moniker "DLC-sized." It includes new adversaries, weaponry, groups, and storylines. Basically, everything is brand-new.The dilapidated remnants of locations such as Islington, Hackney, Westminster, Croydon, Lewisham, the City of London itself, and more should be recognizable to visitors to London. This initiative is not being trifled with by Team FOLON.It's unfortunate that there has to be a delay. The modders had a difficult time choosing, particularly since
Fallout: London was supposed to be released on April 23 (St. George's Day, to be exact). But then, on April 25, Bethesda revealed the release date for the much anticipated "next-gen" patch for
F4, which meant the mod required extra work to accommodate the upgrade. We're waiting for this final approval since
Fallout: London will be accessible on GOG.com upon release. As long as you possess official copies of both the original game and all of the DLC, you may download it for free. There are currently no plans for a console version, therefore it will only be available on PC. See the FAQ for more information.
