Lately, the Steam Early Access program has been the site of several significant victories. Naturally, there was the unexpected release of Hades 2, but Gloomwood is also receiving a major upgrade. The next two 1.0 releases are as follows: Dread Delusion and Conquest Songs!
Of course, at the moment, I'm primarily interested in the latter. A spiritual successor to one of the all-time great turn-based strategy games, Heroes of Might & Magic 3, Songs of Conquest has been in Early Access for the last few of years . The developer Lavapotion has been working diligently to prepare everything for the big occasion at that period. That moment has now come, as expected, and Lavapotion seems genuinely excited about what it has managed to achieve during Songs of Conquest Early Access.
You can now get Songs of Conquest 1.0 on Steam
In fact, anyone who would want to play something like to a contemporary Heroes of Might & Magic 3 reimagining should check out Songs of Conquest. The basic pricing of the game is now $34.99 / 33,99€ or your local equivalent. However, the official Songs of Conquest artbook is also worth checking out for the diehard supporters of HOMM3. Interestingly, Gregory Fulton, the main designer of Heroes of Might & Magic 3, wrote the preface, which is a fun way to connect the two projects. As of this writing, 87% of the more than 6,500 user reviews for Songs of Conquest on Steam have given the project a "Very Positive" review rating. If all of this sounds wonderful, but you're confined to using a certain kind of console to play games, don't worry: Throughout our Early Access phase, requests for console support have been consistent. We are pleased to finally announce that console versions are under development. Actually, the game is already operational and runs flawlessly on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, according to Lavapotion on Steam. Songs of Conquest is currently scheduled for release this fall for PlayStation and Xbox systems.Having said that, Songs of Conquest is excellent when played on the Steam Deck. All credit goes to Bitwave, who is also assisting Lavapotion on the console adaptations of the game. Good news indeed on many fronts!
