According to reports, the next game from a Dragon developer will be shown in September at Tokyo Game Show.

Yakuza/'s creatorIt has been rumored that the Like a Dragon series would release its next game in a matter of months. In September, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will unveil its latest creations.

VGC broke the story by translating a developer-hosted webcast on their own YouTube channel. The video indicates that RGG intends to debut their next game at Tokyo Game Show 2024, which gets underway on September 26, 2024.

In terms of specifics, not much is known. The candidates selected from the Minato Girls Audition, which took place in March, were announced live on the webcast. According to the information in the video, the winners will play in the next Like a Dragon game. Naturally, this does not imply that the game in question will be part of the series, but a fan may hope.

The last Like a Dragon game wasn't that long ago. LAD: Limitless Fortune released on January 25, 2024, to great acclaim; your favorite website gave it a solid 8/10. Although it may seem a little early for another Like a Dragon game, RGG has already shown that multitasking isn't all that bad. Within a year of one another, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth came.

What then lies ahead for the team? All we have is a user's assertion on X that RGG said during an Anime Expo 2024 session that fans will be "surprised" by the next game. That may signify almost anything. We could hear of another Gaiden-like trip, but I wouldn't bet on another major release. I'm still accepting bets and holding out for Judgment 3.

In any case, it seems Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has a lot in store for us. October will see the premiere of Amazon's live-action adaptation of the franchise, which was announced during Tokyo Game Show.
