Arrowhead Game Studios released a substantial Helldivers 2 patch on June 13. It was intended to provide the game some much-needed changes. While it accomplished that, however, it also brought up brand-new problems that fans may find annoying. The Superior Packing Methodology ship module was one of the main complaints, however after over two and a half weeks of waiting, it seems that the patch released today has finally resolved the issue.
The announcement was made by Arrowhead via the official Helldivers 2 As usual, it was posted on Reddit after being sent over to Discord. Although we haven't had an opportunity to test it, a few gamers claim that the problem has definitely been fixed. The Reddit post title indicating that the fault had "supposedly" been addressed, however, tells us something about how much uncertainty there was earlier.

While many others just joked that the update ruined something else, such as the FAF-14 Spear Stratagem, which the June 13 patch also broke but was patched in last week's patch, other commentators refused to accept the patch notes at face value. One remark said, "The fact that we have to even say "allegedly" is so depressing." "Given their past record, nothing can be certain until players test it out themselves," says a second response. Patch notes typically hold true for me, but I really need to see [Arrowhead] for myself."It's perhaps not surprising that some players are so dubious of the updates that have been released, considering the month the Helldivers 2 community has had with the game's performance having also worsened and a recent Personal Order being bugged. A major factor in the declining player numbers of Helldivers 2 has probably been frustration with the ongoing problems. While a decline in player numbers months after release is normal, since Helldivers 2's release in February, the game has lost 90% of its PC players. This decline hasn't been helped by the players who left when Sony made PlayStation accounts mandatory (a move the company soon U-turned on). It's unclear how many people are playing the game on the PlayStation 5, even though it may be doing considerably better there.Nevertheless, there is a lot of optimism in the world. A cursory look at Helldivers reveals that a lot of gamers are still having fun. After eight hours, one new player is already hooked, and a few have posted amusing gameplay videos to show off just what makes Helldivers 2 so unique.
